Aerial Dance

My happy place is the messy intersection where aerial arts mix, melt and merge with dance and physical theatre. I seek a blend of aesthetic force, kinetic poetry and emotive motion in my creations.
I have travelled the world to learn from other artists and choreographers, participating in residencies, creative laborotories, aerial dance festivals and dancing as a guest artist with A-WOL Aerial Dance Collective. This year I was privileged to teach dance trapee and creative movement alongside some of my mentors at the European Aerial Dance Festival in England.

After an impromptu Flamenco performance the age of two I was involved in some sort of dance. Never satisfied with a single style, I tried my hand at everything from ballet to ballroom, latin to flamenco, bollywood to cancan and contemporary/modern dance. I now draw on my experience with all these forms to choreograph aerial dance pieces with both traditional and invented apparatus.

In 2014 I trained in a commercial dance course by day and danced with Les Folies De'Lamour by night -  an award winning, Wellington based performance troupe specialising in French Can Can. In addition to Cancan I performed jazz, bollywood, burlesque and Las Vegas style showgirl routines with the troupe.

Before moving to the USA I taught the only public Aerial dance class in New Zealand. In 2015 my aerial dance show Between the Lines, debuted to a sell out season at BATS theatre in Wellington. Find out more about Between the Lines here...
